Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports as young as fourteen years old. She studied boxing, kickboxing and wrestling prior to making her first appearance in amateur competition at WCFC with Jaimee Nievera. Ladd was able to continue building upon her victory at Ultimate Reno Combat, where she won 3 consecutive bouts. She defeated all her competitors in the initial round. In WCFC, Ladd defeated Leslie Rodriguez with a unanimous decision. Aspen defeated Silvia Babaeghian, Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia beat Aspen to beat her a unanimous vote, leaving the mark of a loss on Aspen's records as an amateur. Ladd beat Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff, and increased her amateur record from 8-1 to 8-1. Aspen became a professional in the year 2015. She signed up with Invicta FC and made her debut. Invicta fought her at Bantamweight and won via armbar submission in the 2nd round. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie defeated Ladd within 16 seconds, breaking her losing streak. She bounced back and finished Yana Kunitskaya after the third round at UFC in ESPN 7. For a replacement last minute for her UFC bout, she fought Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. She was beaten by a majority verdict.
